Growing up all alone after the death of his mother, Nate always wanted a family. He thought he could find that family at the CIA, but fell into one at IIA instead. He tends to see the world in black and white, most likely due to the betrayal and abandonment he's suffered throughout his life.

the series so far
Straight laced CIA agent Nate was sent to IIA against his will after saving Angie from Carly Santros. He fought along the IIA spies for months, falling for Angie in the process. But in one night, it all fell apart. His handler turned out to be a bad guy, and shot him in the chest. Barely alive thanks to quick thinking from Dylan Stone, Nate spent three months in a coma. When he awoke, the CIA paid him to leave and his faulty heart prevented him from being anything more than a desk jockey at IIA. Romantically, his one time one night stand and long standing crush Angie had moved on with her ex. He spent an entire year under surveillance before Percy found a cure for him. He immediately joined an IIA handler training program in London and got Angie to vacation with him in Europe. He also started actively searching for his family. But it turned out he was not the best mentor. His only mentee bailed on him. And the only family he found was his former stripper half sister, Sera. All the while, his relationship with Angie stalled, as both were preoccupied with the Horsemen.

Nate thought he had it all figured out, but he's more confused than ever. He has no idea how to relate to his sister, he's unsure about his future in espionage, and as for Angie...it's all a mystery.
